Dehydrated Banana Chips Recipe
Dehydrated Banana Chips Recipe
I have absolutely no idea why it has taken me so long to post this. It is such an easy recipe and really my go to backpacking snack / backpacking recipe. They are easy, light weight, and they allow you to get your fruit while out in the wilderness, in the middle of no where, or lets face it... even stuck in the office or traffic jam.
Banana chips are fantastic! They are even better if you dip them in dark chocolate ; ) You can also toss them with other dried fruit and nuts for trail mix.
So yes, you are going to need a dehydrator.
Ingredients:
10 bananas (or however many you want)
Coconut oil spray (honestly I didn't even know this was a thing until I saw it in Trader Joes!)
Directions:
Using a mandolin or very sharp knife, slice all your vegetables so they are 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick.
Spray your dehydrator trays with Coconut Oil, or use nonstick sheets. Note: I use the non stick sheets. When using the spray I find my chips are a little too moist.
Place the banana slices in a single layer on your dehydrator trays.
Dehydrate chips at 135°F for 8 to 12 hours, until there are no obvious wet spots. Let cool before packing in resealable plastic bags or glass jars.
Makes 10 servings.
I hope you all enjoyed this recipe. If you tried it don't forget to leave a comment and share with your friends. It really supports this small little blog of Adventuring of a Small Town Girl.
Wishing you nothing but fun, healthy, beautiful adventures!
