Protein Powder Recipes - How To Eat More Protein Daily

I can never seem to:

  1. Get enough protein in my diet.

  2. Stay consistent on eating my protein smoothies which contain my protein powder

  3. Build muscle.

All my research shows that I need more protein to build muscle, but since I am having a hard time eating smoothies every day, I decided I needed to get a bit more creative to trick myself into eating my protein powder.

Now you might be wondering why I don’t just add more meat to my meals. Well, I do eat meat and enjoy it quite a bit, but I don’t eat enough of it. Honestly, when I am getting my plates ready for my meal, I would much rather add more veggies and carbs to my plate instead of protein. I don’t know why; I just typically don’t reach for the protein (unless it is an amazing steak lol).

I have always known this about myself, but when I started my health journey it made it way more obvious. This is why I started to try out various types of protein powders. I figured it would be easy for me to add protein with a protein powder rather than eating plain chicken, or sandwich turkey, or something like that.

Please tell me I am not alone. Do you struggle with this too? Comment below and let me know.

How To Eat More Protein Daily

So, let’s get started into how to eat more protein daily by basically disguising your protein powder or tricking yourself into doing it :) These are all things I do on a regular basis to make sure I get my 1 scoop of protein in each and every day.

1.Smoothies

Smoothies are amazing. They are probably the healthiest meal of my day. I even started sharing each of my favorite smoothie recipes right here. If you struggle with being creative on how to make a yummy smoothie, or just struggle with coming up with smoothie ideas in general make sure to check out all the recipes here.

Here are some things you will need to make your own Smoothies:

2. Smoothie Bowls

Smoothie bowls are like smoothies on steroids. At least that is my opinion of them. I love my smoothies thick so normally I am eating them with a spoon anyways. Basically, you can take any of my smoothie recipes and make a smoothie blow out of it.

With the smoothie bowls you get to put them in a bowl and top them with some amazingly delicious things like granola, fruit, coconut shreds, etc.

3. Protein bites

I LOVE these for on the go. Whether you are traveling for work, hiking, backpacking, or doing really anything on the go, these are for you! They are super easy and delicious. They are small, lightweight, and packed with nutrition. Plus, you can have such a variety of flavors, so you never get tired of them. I always have a supply of these in my fridge.

4. Protein bars

Protein bars are the same as protein bites for me. They are just in bar form rather than ball form. These are a staple for all my adventures.

5. Shakes

Shakes are a great alternative to smoothies if you are just wanting to get in your protein powder and not have all the calories of a smoothie. Basically, you can add your protein powder to water, milk, or juice and BAM protein shake has been made.

These are also very light weight and not filling which is nice. This is another way to get in your protein quick after a big workout.

6. Nice Cream

MY GO TO TREAT AT NIGHT. If you think I am shouting, I am :) That is how much I love Nice Cream!

Yes, I have this the majority of nights. I love ice cream and I have a huge sweet tooth so this is a great alternative for me. It is super easy to make and satisfies that sweet tooth oh so well. If you haven’t tried it you must do so immediately!

Here are some things you will need to make smoothie bowls, protein bars, shakes, nice cream, and protein bites:

7. Protein oats

I do this all the time in the winter. I want something warm when it is super cold, snowy, or rainy outside. All you need to do is make your oats, mix in one scoop of protein powder, and then top with blueberries (or berries of choice). It is so yummy!!!

8. Yogurt Parfait

This works so well when you are out camping! All you need to do is mix your protein powder into your yogurt, add your granola and fruit, and BAM! Delicious protein filled yogurt parfait. Plus, if you use Greek yogurt, you will add even more protein.

9. Add to your coffee

This is my least favorite. For some reason the protein powder makes the coffee really … well… gritty. People swear by this method and say that you have to have the right protein powder. Now, I haven’t tried every protein powder there is to try, so maybe I just haven’t found the right one yet. If you try this, or know of a protein powder that isn’t gritty in your coffee please comment below. I would love to be able to add protein into my morning coffee.
