10 Easy Toddler Breakfast Ideas for Camping

Having a little baby who just started eating solid foods this winter was a bit overwhelming. I had absolutely no idea what to feed her. We started with those purees, but eventually she wanted more solid food, yep she would just spit out the purees. So, I started to try all the things.

Then it was summer and time to go camping. Oh man was I feeling a bit overwhelmed on what to feed her while camping. I didn’t want to make too hard of meals. I don’t like cooking much out camping and especially don’t like to get too many dishes dirty. So, my mind started turning.

What food can you make a one year old out camping?

I came up with a few different ideas and we set off on our 2+ week camping trip. While we were out camping I came up with a few more ideas so I wanted to share them with you, because if you are here you are just like me struggling with what to feed a toddler that is easy, yummy, healthy, and quick!

Things you will need for for food while camping with a toddler:

So there are a few things you are going to need / some baby camping essentials for breakfast time:

  1. Spoon and fork

  2. Camping sippy cup

  3. Handkerchief or something to catch the food to try and preserve your little ones clothes

  4. Toddler / Baby highchair

  5. Bowls and plates (I typically just do paper everything so I can throw it in the fire, unless I am out backpacking)

10 Easy Toddler Breakfast Ideas for Camping

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is easy all you have to do is boil water! You can make it as hearty or lightweight as you would like to. Now, you can buy the already made packages of oats, you can buy oats in bulk, and you can even make your own packed jammed oatmeal breakfast. It is totally up to you, what you like, and well in all honesty what that little one will eat!

You can even get oatmeal in an already made up package which is pretty neat. All you have to do is boil water, eat it and throw that paper in the fire! Talk about no clean up!

Yogurt

Yogurt is pretty yummy and my little girl just loves it! You can make it a bit healthier by choosing greek yogurt or unflavored yogurt.

They also make yogurt that already has granola in the container and/or fruit! This one is another super easy breakfast as there is literally no clean up which is something I love!

To go smoothies

You guys these things are the shiz! Seriously, they are healthy, easy, yummy, good on the go, and there is no clean up! I mean can you really get any better than that?

Granola bars

Another super go to for me! Now with granola bars you have to be a little careful as they sometimes have a boat load of hidden sugars and nasty ingredients. So, just make sure you read the labels. Or even better you can make your own! I have a few different granola bar recipes for you. They are easy, no bake, and only a few ingredients. Check these out here.

Fruit

When my babe won’t eat anything fruit is my go to. She LOVES fruit. Typically I give her fruit after she has eaten her meal, but sometimes we can only get her to eat fruit so we do what we gotta do :)

Eggs

Eggs aren’t the easiest meal when it comes to clean up. I mean you have a pan and spatula that you have to clean, but eggs are filling and healthy. Bonus, my little girl loves them.

Toast, Butter, and Jam

Toast is a super easy meal especially if you but butter and jam on it. You can also make avocado toast, toast with cream cheese, toast with hard boiled eggs. The list goes on. So don’t only think dry crunchy bread when I say toast :)

Now, if you don’t have a toaster no worries! You can toast your bread over the fire or even on your grill. You don’t need electricity to have delicious toast.

Beagles and cream cheese

I absolutely love beagles. There are so many different varieties its amazing!

Parfaits

Yogurt parfaits are delicious and healthy! These are my go to camping breakfasts even for myself. If you want some yummy parfait recipes I created a whole bunch of different ones with protein added to the yogurt to give you that extra boost of nutrition and calories. Pre-made pancakes

Ok so this one might sound weird but trust me babies love it. You make some pancakes before you leave, put them in the fridge, and then have them in the morning. The only thing with this is you won’t want to wait days before you have them. You will want to eat them the next day. I also have a super delicious pancake recipe that is all natural ingredients made with bananas and oats. Check it out here:
