Quick and Healthy Breakfast Recipes to Eat More Protein Daily
I have the hardest time building muscle. I can do all the workout programs, follow the program to a T and still not look like I am gaining muscle. I know I am because I can lift heavier weights; however, the muscle just doesn’t show through my skin (insert sad face here).
I’ve always wanted those nice lean shoulders and arms, but can never seem to get them. It gets a little discouraging, not going to lie, when you put in all the effort, but aren’t seeing the results you want to see.
I was doing a bit of research and the majority of what I read was that I am not getting enough protein in my diet. So, I decided to track my protein for a few days to see exactly how much protein I eat.
Not really to any surprise, I barely eat protein! I typically have meat either at lunch or dinner, and normally it isn’t that much either. I rarely eat any protein at breakfast. My typical breakfast is either a banana, oatmeal, or a piece of toast with butter.
After tracking my protein for a couple of days I found out I was eating about 30 grams (if even) of protein a day. UGH! According to all my research you are supposed to eat your body weight in protein each and every day. Wow right?
This got me to thinking, how exactly can I add more protein into my daily diet. I am not good at eating meat at every meal so what else can I do to help increase my protein intake especially at breakfast since I rarely eat protein during that meal. Now, this is where I started to get creative and wanted to share some of my ideas with you. If you are anything like me and struggle with this, hopefully this will help. I also created an entire article on Protein Powder Recipes and how to eat more protein daily. You can check that out here.

So, you can either make your own protein shakes, or you can buy them pre-made. I have made my own before and they are just ok. I haven’t shared any recipes because…. well…. they are just ok! I don’t feel like they are worthy of sharing with you until I perfect them. The benifit of making your own is you know exactly what is going into the shake.
For me, I found these premier protein shakes and I am obsessed with them. The ingredients are pretty good and they have 30g of protein!!! I feel like that is pretty awesome. Also, they are incredibly easy. So, again, if you are on the move, these are a really good easy quick breakfast. So far the vanilla and chocolate are my favorites. I tried the Cafe Latte which is good but not my fave. I also tried the caramel which is just ok.
