Blackberry Smoothie Recipe - Protein Smoothie

I have such a love for blackberries. Ok, so that sounds weird…. story time is much needed.

I love blackberries. You see, every year my family takes a family camping trip up to Northern California. We stay in a little town next to the ocean for a week or so and the campground that we stay at is lined with blackberry bushes. Each year we pick hundreds of fresh blackberries for all sorts of goodness. We:

  1. put them in our ice cream

  2. put them in our yogurt

  3. Eat them fresh off the vine

  4. Add them to our oatmeal

  5. Make the most delicious blackberry cobblers!

It is one of my absolute favorite things. So, yes, blackberries have a special place in my heart.

Now, blackberries aren’t for everyone. You see, they have some pretty big seeds. Alot of people don’t like them for that reason alone. So, when you are making this smoothie, just know that you will have blackberry seeds in your smoothie.

Blackberry Smoothie Recipe - Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces vanilla almond milk

  • 1 cup frozen blackberries

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

  • Optional: 1 cup spinach

    • This will make your smoothie turn brown

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender

  2. Blend until smooth

  3. Poor into your favorite glass and enjoy!!

Serving Size: Makes 1 serving
