So basically, I want something yummy, quick, and no cooking necessary for my hiking lunch or else I am just going to either not eat or I am going to munch on things like trail mix or just snacks.

No Cook Hiking Food - Backpacking Meals

1. Sweet Bacon Peanut Butter Wrap

When it comes to hiking food or backpacking lunches, you seriously need something easy, quick and no clean up right? These no cook hiking food ideas and backpacking lunch ideas in this post are simple and delicious! By Bessie Roaming #backpacking #h…

This is one of my go to hiking lunches. It has healthy fats, protein, and carbs which is just all around a good combo. In order to make this one you are going to need cooked bacon, honey, your favorite peanut butter, and a tortilla. Spread the peanut butter on the tortilla, drizzle honey, add bacon and BOOM! That is it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Note: You are going to make this before you head out on your hike. Put it in a zip lock back. The honey might leak and it might get a little messy so you want to make sure it is completely sealed.

You can also make when you get to your lunch spot by bringing in single serve honey and single serve peanut butter packets.

Did you know that they even make bacon jerky? I haven’t ever tried it though, so if you try it let me know in the comments below. Is it good?

2. Turkey Spinach Wrap

This is my second go to hiking lunch. It isn’t really something that you can take backpacking, but man is it perfect for hiking or car camping.

All you need is turkey lunch meat, a tortilla, pepper jack cheese, cream cheese, and spinach.

You can find the full recipe here.

3. Dry Salami, Cheese, and Crackers

If you struggle with eating up in the high country you are going to want to pack something that you find delicious. For me, hard salami and cheese does the trick. I used to take this backpacking with me on every trip, but I started to want to pack a little lighter so I only take this as a treat every once in awhile. It is a bit heavy, but man is it delicious.

You need to make sure to get the good hard salami and a cheese that is wrapped in wax. There are a few options out there for you. Here are my favorite brands and items I get to make this lunch:

4. Tuna with Crackers

I seriously grew up on Tuna, crackers, and pickles. It was one of my absolute favorite lunches in the summertime!

This one is pretty awesome, easy, and yummy. All you need are your favorite crackers and a tuna packet. You can also bring in relish packets in order to have relish with your tuna and crackers!

Did you know that they make single serve tuna packets? They also make single serve salmon packets and single serve chicken packets. These make it super duper easy to make a yummy healthy lunch on the trail!

5. Granola

This has become my go to no cook backpacking lunch! It is easy, quick, and hassle free. In order to make this recipe work all you need is your favorite granola and powdered milk. To make it even better you could add protein powder, freeze dried fruit, and sliced almonds.

Here are my favorites when it comes to this meal:

6. Beagles and Cream Cheese

Ok, so beagles used to be a huge thing for me when I went backpacking. They are so freaking good, but good lord are they heavy! I don’t ever take them anymore due to the weight, but if you want something tasty this is pretty awesome.

I do still take beagles and cream cheese hiking though if I am in the mood :) What makes this meal even better is if you toast the beagle. Now, I know that involves getting your stove out, but man oh man does it make it yummy.

Here are some of my favorites to make this no cook hiking lunch:

7. Pita and Tuna Wrap

I have seen this recipe everywhere but I have never tried it before, so this is my full disclaimer. All of the other recipes are tried, true, and tested. If you try this one let me know.

My plan is to try this one out this year during a day hike to see how it packs in and how good it tastes. I honestly have no doubt that it is going to taste delicious.

The cool thing is you can even make a Pita and salami wrap. Just change out the Tuna for Salami and don’t add relish :)

The things you will need for this are:

  1. Pita wrap

  2. Mayo, mustard, and relish packets

  3. Tuna packet (you could even use dry salami)

  4. Cheese if desired

8. Protein Shakes / Meal replacement shake

I love protein shakes, but you have to bring in a shaker bottle for these or else your shake is going to be clumpy. Basically, you can use whatever protein shake or meal replacement shake is your favorite. All you need is a shaker bottle and some water. You could also add coconut powder or milk powder to add a little extra creaminess and calories to the shake
