Arizona Travel Outfits - Desert Outfit Ideas

As all my outfit post start out it really depends on what you are planning on doing and what time of year you are going. Since you made it to my website, I bet you are outdoorsy, want to travel, see all the scenery, maybe take some hikes, and just enjoy the outdoors all while being comfy and cute. If that sounds like you then you are definitely in the right place! Yay!

I took a 2 weeklong road trip in the Fall from California to Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and then back to California. It was such a fun trip, but some serious outfit planning was needed. I didn't want to bring too many clothes, but I needed enough clothes as I wasn't going to be able to wash anything until I got back home.

Things you want to consider when packing for your trip:

1. Check the weather

Since it was Fall the weather was going to be cooler. The highs were in the low 70's and the lows were in the 30's. With that I needed both cooler weather clothes and warmer weather clothes.... insert face palm here.

2. Think about how long you are going to be gone and if you can wash clothes. If you can wash clothes, you can bring less which is always great!

3. What can you wear multiple times without washing?

For me this is jackets and my flannels. I can wear those two items a few times before I need to wash them. Actually, with jackets I rarely wash them if I am being honest. I typically wash them if they smell like campfire or if I spill something on them lol.

Shirts: 2 Flannels - 2 long sleeve shirts - 1 T Shirt - 1 tank top

Jackets / Warm tops: 1 Down Jacket - 1 Vest - 1 rain jacket

Pants: 1 pair of jean shorts - 2 pair of hiking shorts - 3 pair of leggings - 1 pair of jeans

Shoes: 1 pair of Birkenstocks - Sorrel boots - 1 pair of Tevas / hiking sandals - 1 pair of tennis shoes

Hats: 1 big brimmed hat - 2 tuckers hats - 2 Headbands

Other: 1 T shirt dress - Socks, bras, panties

Things to consider bringing for your Desert Trip:

1. Maxi dress

2. Something nice for a dinner out on the town

3. Headwear! Hats, beanies, headbands

4. Sandals

5. Tennies

6. Hiking boots

7. Tank tops, long sleeves, and T-shirts

8. Leggings

9. workout shorts

10. Cut off shorts (I love American Eagle)

11. Jumpsuits (Something comfy for your drive. Free People is where I get all my jumpsuits)

12. Down Jacket or something super warm for those cold desert nights

13. Socks, undies, sports bras

14. Also, don’t forget things like sunscreen, water bottles, etc.
