Perseid Meteor Shower - 2017

" Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." Theodore Roosevelt

Each and every year, during August, the Earth passes through a trail of debris left by the comet Swift Tuttle. When this happens the event is called the Perseid Meteor Shower.   The meteors appear to radiate out of the constellation Perseus, from which they take their name. The best time to watch the show is late July through August 24th, but this year the shower peaks on August 12th.

The best time to watch the meteor shower is when the sky is at it's darkest (when the moon has set). This will be in the very early morning. This year the meteor shower will be a little more difficult to see due to the presence of the moon.
