What To Pack For A Trip - My Top 10 Essential Items for Airports

Airport travel can be super stressful so I put together an article all about What to Pack for a Trip - My Top 10 Essential Items for Airports by Bessie Roaming

Packing for a long trip, or even a short one can be kinda stressful especially when you are flying. I always get nervous that I am going to forget something, get stopped at security, or just not bring something really important that I can’t buy. I always say to myself “all you need is your ID and credit card” because then I know I can still buy whatever I forgot.

Even with that quote being repeated over and over in my head I still over pack and still get worried that I am going to forget something. If I feel this way I am sure others feel that way too. So, on my trip to Maui worked with my best friend and Solo Travel Adventurer Megan to create a list of absolute essentials for airport travel.

Top 10 Essential Items for Airports

1. Small carry on backpack

2. Neck pillow

3. A small wallet or a small shoulder purse

4. Comfy clothes

  • This is an absolute MUST! You are going to be walking far, and sitting for a long time. You need something comfy. I typically wear leggings, a sports bra, a comfy shirt, and sandals.

5. Battery Pack

  • This is a must especially if you have a lay over. You seriously do not want to have to find an outlet in order to charge your phone or battery

  • For me I love the Anker battery packs. I have linked them below. These battery packs work with my computer, phone, camera, and pretty much anything that needs to be charged.

6. Headphones

  • I love my Bose headphones. This way I can listen to music, podcasts, or any sort of video I want

7. Your phone

  • Not going to lie here… this goes without saying but definitely something you want on your list.

8. A good book

  • When I am on a plane I feel like it is the absolute perfect time to read a book. You don’t have internet and you can’t really move around much so grab your fave book and get to reading

  • Check out my article all about Best Adventure Books

9. A pen

  • I was surprised when I went to Maui and had to fill out a form. The flight attendant wouldn’t provide pens to anyone. I was lucky enough to find a pen in my backpack.

10. Your personal things

  • Think of things like your wallet, any meds you might need, glasses or contacts, etc.

So there you have it. Our top 10 essential items you will need for airport travel. Can you come up with any items that we missed? Make sure to leave a comment below. I would love to add more details to this article :) Let’s make this a community and help each other in our adventures :)

Wishing you nothing but amazing adventures !
