Best Hiking Sandals for Women
I have definitely had quite a bit of trial and error when it comes to figuring out what shoe is best for hiking. I always thought it had to be a high top boot. That is what everyone says right? I mean that is the traditional shoe to wear when you backpack. Boots. It has always been boots.
After trying multiple boots, I started to read a bit more about hiking shoes. I started to realize that maybe hiking in boots really wasn’t for me. Maybe, just maybe, something else would work better. So, I started to hike short hikes in tennis shoes. Then I bought Toe shoes. Yep, toe shoes. Even though they looked silly, they were amazing. Eventually I found barefoot shoes.

There is a massive debate on if hiking in sandals is an ok thing to do, but the bigger debate is what are the best hiking sandals. So, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of the best hiking sandals for Women. So enough chatting, lets dive in!

Chaco’s
When people think hiking in sandals they typically picture Chaco’s. These are the sandals that I am currently hiking in.
Now, Chaco’s are pretty freaking awesome. Some of the things I love about Chacos are:
They offer various types of foot beds which is pretty sweet. So you can decide if you want the softer foot bed or the little bit firmer foot bed.
The foot bed will break in and mold to your foot making them incredibly comfortable and just for you
The straps adjust to fit just right. I absolutely love how the straps adjust. Typically when you hike your feet will swell ever so slightly. With the adjustable straps, you can just loosen them up a bit to accommodate for the swelling.

Teva’s
Teva’s were my first sandal love. They were actually the first sandals that I bought after I got my first job. I was so incredibly excited to be able to buy these sandals.
Teva has been perfecting their sandals for adventuring since 1984.
Teva’s are so incredibly comfortable and they are affordable too. There is a huge price difference between Chaco’s and Teva’s.
Keen’s
Keen’s are a brand that aren’t talked about much when it comes to hiking sandals, but are pretty dang awesome. I absolutely love their water shoes / hiking sandals. They protect your toes which is pretty amazing and they still allow you to feel like you are wearing a sandal. See the images below for what I am talking about:
