The Ultimate Hawaii Packing List
The Hawaiian Islands are so incredibly amazing. This past month I just took a trip to Maui and let me tell you I could have stayed for so much longer. Our trip was a total of 9 days and it flew by!
Now, having it be your first time to one of the islands, I am sure you might be nervous and want to make sure that you pack all the right things. Before we get started on the Ultimate Hawaii Packing List make sure to check out my two other articles. These are really important:

The Ultimate Hawaii Packing List
Camera
Oh man do not forget your camera! This place is absolutely stunning and you are going to want to take all sorts of pictures. For me, I brought my full framed camera (Sony A7riii); however, if you want a lighter smaller option the Sony 6000 series is absolutely amazing! It is light, small, compact, and takes awesome photos. Here are some suggestions for you:
Camera Gear
Well if you are bringing a camera you are going to want to bring your camera gear. I ended up buying a small tripod when I got to the Island because my big beast of a tripod was too much for taking into the airport. The tripod I bought was at Target for $21. I figured it was just an expense of the trip, but if you have room in your checked luggage it is definitely something you are going to want to bring. Here are some additional items:
SD Cards
Tripod
Underwater camera set up
Extra batteries
Waterproof case for your phone if you want to go scuba diving and get some neat photos!
Shoes:
Water shoes
Snorkeling is HUGE in Maui and along all the islands. I bought my Water shoes at Walmart for $6 . Also, the rocks in the rivers and under the waterfalls are incredibly sharp. You really don’t want to have to deal with a massive cut on your foot for your entire trip so make sure to buy them and use them whenever you go into the water.
Flip Flops
Hiking Tennis Shoes
Hiking Sandals
Swim suit
You will probably be living in your swim suit. I am obsessed with Aerie. That is where all my swim wear is from .
Bathroom supplies (other than your traditional set up)
leave in hair conditioner
coconut oil
sunblock
hair brush
Scrunchies and hair ties
Razor
Deodorant
anything else you use on a regular basis
Clothing
Shorts
Jeans
Long Sleeve button ups
Tank tops and T shirts
Workout clothing
Leggings
Workout shorts
Sports bras
Dresses
Undies and Bras
Socks
Hats
The sun is so incredibly intense on the islands and everything that you are going to want to do is going to be outside so make sure to get yourself a hat to protect that beautiful face of yours :) I would suggest either a baseball hat or a large brimmed hat.
Mosquito Replant wrist bands
There are a ton of mosquitos and just bugs in generals so make sure to either buy Bug off when you get to the island or check out these amazing wrist bands.
Computer
For me this is a must so I can actually work while I am on the road
Battery Packs
Your days are going to be long and full of adventure. Make sure you grab yourself a 26000 mH battery pack to recharge your phone and camera while you are out and about. Believe me, you are going to need it.
Chargers for all your gear (phone, computer, camera, etc)
If you forget your charger for your phone it really isn’t that big of a deal because you can always buy one once you land. Now, if you forget your charger for your computer it might be a problem, so definitely something you are going to want to put on your list.
Day Hiking Pack
This is seriously a must have! It is great cause you can actually use this as your carry on bag and put all your essentials in it for the flight.
Waterproof Speaker
This is something I didn’t bring and man it would have been nice to have. Some areas of Hawaii don’t have cell phone reception or any sort of reception. So, it would have been awesome to have a speaker in order to play some tunes while at the beach, out kayaking, hiking, or just anytime that you want to :) Here are some of my favorites:
Guidebooks and Guide Apps
Guidebooks are super awesome. My friend brought a guide book for Maui and we have used it on a daily basis.
Then we found these super neat guide apps. We found an amazing app that was our own personal guide for the Road to Hana. There were so many different options and they were only about $5. It was pretty sweet. We started in the morning, turned on the guide app, turned on the GPS and then headed on our marry way. The entire time we had our own personal guide in the car letting us know what was to the right, what was to the left, and when was a good time to stop. It was amazing!
Phone
I doubt you will forget your phone, but I had to add it cause it would SUCK to forget this gem :)
There you have it friends! The ultimate Hawaii packing list. Can you think of anything that I forgot? Something essential that you have to have while traveling to Hawaii? If so, comment below. I would love to add it to the list :)
Now, get to packing, don’t stress and freaking enjoy your adventure!
